With our aging population, an increasing number of older adults with hearing loss have cognitive decline. Hearing care practitioners have an important role in supporting healthy aging and should be knowledgeable about cognitive decline and associated management strategies to maximize successful hearing intervention.
Hearing loss brings with it a host of health conditions. Recent research indicates that dementia and Alzheimer’s disease may be connected to hearing loss. Dementia poses a threat for people who have hearing loss levels of more than 25dB. Those above 60 years were found to have an increased likelihood of having hearing-loss related dementia by 36%.
It really doesn't seem fair: Hearing loss, a troublesome fact of life for more than 48 million Americans, according to the Hearing Loss Association of America, may increase the risk of cognitive problems and even dementia. By the time Americans reach their 70s, two-thirds have hearing loss.
Clear Choice Hearing Aid Centers was at Earlham College on Thursday, April 5, 2018 for the Wellness Fair. Over 50 organizations dedicated to the health and wellness of Richmond and Wayne County to share their expertise and resources. There was free gifts and door prizes.

A local business owner who was leasing office space on the north side of the city has relocated to downtown Connersville. Ryan Anderson relocated his franchise of Clear Choice Hearing Aid Centers to 134 W. Sixth St., the former location that housed The Cabinet Gallery. The cabinet retailer is now inside the Sears outlet on Park Road.
The holidays can always be stressful – what with shopping for presents then wrapping them and writing greeting cards, followed by visits to numerous food shops with stressed out shoppers fighting over the last turkey!
